When adjusting timing on an 22R-E engine without a timing light do you rotate the crank pulley until the notch is at 0 degrees BDTC and make sure the rotor on the distributor cap points to spark plug # 1 on the distributor cap?.
When I rotated the crank pulley on my 22R-E engine to 0 degree BTDC the rotor was pointing above the spark plug # 1 on the distributor cap, could the distributor drive gear be off by a tooth? when the prior owner had the headgasket replaced along time ago.
She doesn't start right away and misses/bucks under load specially at highways and seems to lack slight power. Thanks in advance for help/replies.
