: after about 10 minutes of starting and driving my 92 truck with a 22re engine, when I go to stop at a light or something the engine wants to cut out, and not idle at the proper rpms. It idles at the proper rpms before driving. I notice a temperary fix to the problem and that is to turn the air conditioner(not the heater or defroster) on and off and the idle goes back to where it should be. I just think it is unusual how the air conditioner switch would be connected into this. I know the air conditioner kicks up the idle to run it but when I cut it off you would think the problem would still be there.

Probably have the A/C fast idle set too high. If so and you put on the brakes, you hit the ECU fuel cut point. The ECU thinks you are driving and hitting the brakes, so it cuts fuel to the engine to help you slow down. I can exactly duplicate this problem with my A/C idle up if the fast idle is more than 1100 RPM or so, Turn it back to around 1000 and it is fine:
