Why do you insist on asking questions about drivability when you arent even willing to tune the engine up right? What makes you think the engine should start and run OK with the timing off? How much is a used timing light on ebay? $20 = 1/3 of a tank of gasoline.

The good news is your compression is outstanding so eventually you'll have a strong running truck
